Cops probe car thefts

POLICE were this week appealing for witnesses after a spate of thefts from cars in Larkhall.

Thieves nicked a 02-plate Honda Civic from outside a home in Fyne Crescent, Merryton, on Saturday, January 15, between 8.30am and 3.30pm.

The owner locked the dark blue car and returned to find that it had been taken.

A child’s car seat and video camera were left in the vehicle when it was stolen.

Thieves broke into a Mercedes Sprinter Van and a Mitsubishi L200 parked in Morgan Street on Monday, January 17, at 6pm and the following day at 7.45pm.

They made off with a Makita green electric router worth a three-figure sum from one of the vehicles.

Opportunist thieves stole a Bush portable DVD, Tom Tom sat nav and rucksack after a Honda Accord car was left unlocked in the driveway of a home in Legion Place on Sunday, January 16, between 9.45pm and the following day at 10pm.
