£1000 raised for prostate cancer charity by SADRT

LADS from the Strathaven and District Round Table raised over £1000 in their Movember moustache growing sponsorship.

During November the boys grew moustaches to raise money and awareness for a prostate cancer charity.

Gordon Morrison, 2010/11 Round Table chairman said, “This has been a new experience for most of the Tabler’s who took part.

“Certainly during the past month, I’ve been kept constantly aware of the reasons why we all got into this challenge, which was to draw attention to the biggest killer of men our age – prostate cancer.”

The mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember.

Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple: start Movember 1 clean shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health.

Although the Tablers are planning to shave off their mos, at least until next year, donations to their fundraiser are still welcome, pledges can be made by visiting their website: www.strathavenroundtable.co.uk or e-mail: PR@strathavenroundtable.co.uk
