POLICE are trying to trace a man who crashed his car in Hamilton Road, Strathaven, yesterday (Wednesday) and then disappeared.

When police arrived, they found the car was upside down but there was no sign of a driver.
Police believe the driver may have lost control of the car.
However, after an extensive search of the surrounding area, using police dogs, there was no sign of him.
A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said: “We are trying to track the male driver, who left the scene of the accident.
“We need to contact him for our enquiries and also to ensure that he gets any medical help that he may require.”
“It seems that there were no other passengers or vehicles involved in the accident so we need to trace the driver and take his account of the incident.”
