NURSERY children and friends from the Sweetie Brae Nursery in Strathaven have signed up to run in aid of the national campaign and raise money for Sport Relief.
The Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile in Strathaven is just over a week away, and next Sunday, March 21, is set to be an unforgettable day.
Many local people have already signed up, so others need to enter quickly to ensure places for all their friends, family and workmates.
The run will be around Strathaven's famous George Allan and John Hastie parks.
There will also be face painting, tombola, nibbles and entertainment on the day.
Gail Clark, event organiser, said: “The Strathaven Sweetie Brae Mile is set to be an amazing day.
“It is fantastic that so many people from Strathaven and the surrounding area are gathering together to show their support for Sport Relief 2010.
“But we want this to be the best Sport Relief event yet, so we still need more people to raise their game, enter the Strathaven Sweetie Brae Mile and join us to raise plenty of cash.”
You can choose your own distance challenge from one, three or six miles.
That means, from teeny tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock, there's something for everyone on the day.
The money you raise through sponsorship will be spent by Comic Relief to help transform lives here in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.
Sport Relief has a unique history of dedicated people doing extraordinary things to rise to the challenge.
Gail added: “Last summer Eddie Izzard set an incredible standard by running an amazing 43 marathons in 51 days around the UK.”
Some amazing celebrity challenges have already geared up the country for Sport Relief Weekend.
David Walliams and friends did the BT Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride, Helen Skelton endured her Amazing Amazon Adventure, and Christine Bleakley is set to take on the Thomson Sport Relief Waterskiing Challenge.
