Lanarkshire law firm donate car to St Andrew's Hospice

ST ANDREW’S Hospice are hoping to put their fundraising efforts into top gear thanks to the generosity of a Lanarkshire law firm.

Bonnar & Company Solicitors, based in High Street, Airdrie, have kindly donated a new Renault Clio which will be the main prize of a May Day raffle which the hospice will draw on Monday, May 3.

The legal firm’s gesture is a major boost for the fundraising team at St Andrew‘s Hospice.

“We have to find £44,000 each week to maintain vital services to palliative care patients from across Lanarkshire.

The hospice’s fundraising director, Katie Mulgrew, said she was delighted at the generous offer by the local law firm, especially at a time when economic conditions were tough.

“We recognise that times are difficult for many people at the moment and that there are so many good causes out there all looking for the same pound,” she said.

“We are aware that this puts not only financial pressure but also emotional pressure on the general public.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the general public and the Lanarkshire business community for the support they give to us on a regular basis.

“We are extremely grateful to Bonnar & Company Solicitors, for donating the car for us to raffle.”

Tickets for the St Andrew’s Hospice May Day Car Raffle are £1 each or £10 per book.

They can be obtained by contacting the fundraising team on 01236 766951.
