Fairtrade events to celebrate fortnight in schools.

PRIMARY schools throughout the county took part in Fairtrade Fortnight.

St Anne’s and St Elizabeth's Primaries in Hamilton were just two of the schools who enjoyed visits and activities during the week.

St Elizabeth’s pupils were invited along to the Glasgow Fairtrade Experience in Glasgow’s Concert Hall to demonstrate Fairtrade Fitness.

Pupils dressed as Fairtrade Monkeys targeted footballs into a giant blown-up banana whilst others pedalled a stationary bike which blended Fairtrade fruits together for a smoothie using an attached dynamo and electric blender.

SHAKE MACHINE: centre, one of the Fairtrade staff invited pupils to show how much fitness and fun you get from Fairtrade.

TRADING FAIR: St Anne’s Primary School were visited by Chilean nut growers who brought Fairtrade products including orange juice, nuts, coffee and tea.
