Community grant benefits Lanarkshire groups

LOCAL groups have benefited – thanks to the latest round of community grants.

Those given a grant of £200 by East Kilbride Area Committee were: The Pavillion Art Class, Avondale Bowling Club, Strathaven After School Club, Canderavon Residents’ and Carer’s Group.

Receiving £250 towards outings are Avondale Bowling Club Senior Section, 1st Chapelton Girls’ Brigade, West Church Men’s Club, and Glassford Youth Club.

Avondale Playgroup were awarded £350.

Several groups were also awarded grants towards equipment with Strathaven Community Nursery gaining £400, The Whizz Kidz Klub will benefit from a £350 grant, Avon Angling Club, £360, and both Strathaven in Bloom and Rascals Community Nursery were given £550.

To finish off the £56,000 grant allowance, Strathaven Bowling Club received £300.
