P7 pupils take part in event at Strathaven Academy.

PRIMARY seven pupils in the Strathaven Learning Community took part in an annual partnership event last Thursday.

All children relocated to the Academy for one day to take part in challenges in Science, Technical Education, PE and Home Economics.

The Slime Challenge in Science is always a highlight, with pupils following a recipe to make the gunge before being set the challenge of seeing how far theirs can stretch.

In Home Economics children designed their own healthy wraps.

Pupils also entered into sporting challenges with great determination and enthusiasm and finally, in Technical Education, pupils were set the challenge of designing and making a fairground ride using a K’Nex kit.

A spokesman for the school said: “It was a great day which is always much enjoyed by pupils and the Academy teachers.”
