Finalists are selected for Face of 2010

AS of lunchtime yesterday (Wednesday), almost 5400 votes had been cast in our fab bid to find this year’s Face of 2010.

Since last week, when the Advertiser printed a special supplement containing the photos of our model hopefuls, readers have been making their choices.

Lines closed at midnight last night and those through to the final will be contacted by telephone today.

They will be invited to our glittering award ceremony on Wednesday, December 9, at The Parkville in Blantyre.

The Model Team will then select our overall winner and two runners-up.

Our winner will scoop a magnificent package of prizes worth thousands of pounds enabling them to promote themselves to the modelling industry.

They will receive a modelling portfolio courtesy of Premier Photography worth more than £500.

They will also receive £250 cash from Scottish and Universal Newspapers, publishers of the Advertiser.

One year’s gym membership to the impressive Triangle Health and Fitness Club at East Kilbride’s Holiday Inn will also be on offer to the winner.

Our winner will also receive a large bouquet of flowers worth £50 from top Larkhall florists Always and Forever.

Uddingston-based hairdresser Graham Dignall will provide our winner with a fantastic new hairstyle.

A wonderful Citizen’s gents/ ladies watch worth £150 will be presented by McKellars Jewellers in Bannatyne Street, Lanark.

Debenhams in East Kilbride will provide our winner with £150 to spend in their store.

And after all that they can enjoy a meal for two at The Burnside in Rutherglen.

We also have fabulous prizes for our second and third placed entrants and no finalist will leave empty handed.

See next week’s Advertiser for full coverage of our glittering awards ceremony and who will be crowned our Face of 2010.

The Hamilton Advertiser and our sister titles, East Kilbride News and Rutherglen Reformer, launched Lanarkshire’s Face of 2010 competition last month and 63 men and women aged between 16 and 50 from across the region entered.

Hamilton’s Premier Photography, our partner in the competition, opened their doors just over two weeks ago to and photographed the entrants.
