Lanarkshire model hopefuls enter Face of 2010 competition

A TOTAL of 63 modelling hopefuls have entered Lanarkshire’s Face of 2010 competition.

The Hamilton Advertiser, East Kilbride News, and Rutherglen Reformer launched the appeal to find Lanarkshire’s Face of 2010 last month and over the weekend men and women, aged between 16 and 50, from across the region came along to the photo shoots.

Hamilton’s Premier Photography was buzzing with excitement when the hopefuls went along at the weekend to be photographed.

Elaine Dempsey, owner of Premier Photography, thinks the shoots on Saturday and Sunday went really well.

She said: “The photo sessions over the weekend went well.

“The standard was exceptionally high and as good as last year so there is certainly some tough competition.

“It was also really good to see some of last year’s entrants coming back and I admire them for not giving up and giving it another shot. I wish them the best of luck.”

With the final now looming, Elaine can’t wait to see who is crowned as the winner.

She added: “I’m really excited about the final and I’m sure it will be a good night.

“I think it’s fantastic that local papers such as the Advertiser, News and Reformer are giving local people the support and help they sometimes need to become models.

“I am delighted to be associated with the Face of 2010 competition.”

The photos will now appear in a special supplement in next week’s editions and the voting will begin.

The 15 hopefuls with the most text or phone votes will then go through to our glamorous final at the Parkville where a winner and two runners up will be chosen by The Model Team.

Our winner will scoop a fabulous package of prizes enabling them to promote themselves to the modelling industry and our two runners-up will also receive some great prizes as will as all the finalists.
