HAMILTON town centre was the scene of festive fun and frolics when the Christmas lights were switched on by Santa Claus and Provost Russell Clearie.
The annual event, last Sunday, featured live music, throwaway prizes, children’s games, a Christmas fairy and festive songs and dances by Defrost Dance Off.
Real Radio's Paul Harper entertained the crowd with the £100 Cash Challenge. Then the Wild Winter Warmer Festive Fire Act entertained along with the X-Factor’s MacDonald Brothers who performed live.
Paul Harper from Real Radio introduced local dignitaries at the event who then joined Santa and other guests on stage for the big Christmas countdown.
As well as the fun-filled programme, there was a continental-style Christmas market with around 100 stalls in Quarry Street, selling a variety of Christmas gifts as well as fair rides.
