Inspector Fraser Lamb, Community Police Inspector for Hamilton said: “We would like to remind all householders to remain vigilant with their property, particularly since the nights and days are darker.
“Often, would-be thieves take advantage of this time of year to target homes and garages.
“Householders should take the necessary steps to protect their property.
“Securing your home should be high on the priority list and you should remember to lock doors and windows when leaving the house or retiring for the evening.
“Also, you may wish to consider buying timer switches that turn your lights on even when you are away from home. These can be bought from many DIY stores or supermarkets.”
Anyone with any information on the above incidents should contact Hamilton Police Office on 01698 483300, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
