TWO exciting new activities have been trialled at Maggie's Lanarkshire during autumn.
The first was a pampering event, which was a great success.
Beauty therapy students from Motherwell College gave their time to transform two of the Maggie's centre rooms into beauty salons for an afternoon.
Visitors enjoyed treatments including hand and foot massages, nail polishes, and neck and shoulder massages.
All of the participants left feeling pampered and relaxed.
September's other new activity was the taster Maggie's Lanarkshire walking group, supported by Getting Better Together Shotts Healthy Living Centre.
The walkers met at Maggie's Lanarkshire, in Wishaw, before heading off by minibus to Linlithgow Palace.
They had an interesting walk around the fantastic grounds, in wonderful end-of-summer sunshine.
Paul Bridges who led the walk, said: "Shotts Healthy Living Centre are delighted to be working in partnership with Maggie's, and we are sure that the walking group will be a popular addition to the fantastic services already available there.”
On arriving back at Maggie's, everyone enjoyed some soup and a chat, before the weekly drop-in relaxation session.
The next walking group will be on Thursday, November 12, and anyone who is interested in taking part should contact the Maggie's Lanarkshire team.
Maggie's Lanarkshire is a homely, welcoming place where people with cancer, their family and friends can receive the support they need.
Maggie's is open for people to drop-in for information, emotional and psychological support and to develop skills that might help them to live more positively with their cancer.
