Hamilton pub the Mill Inn raise £700 in memory of Isobel

BIG-HEARTED staff from the Mill Inn in Hamilton have raised £700 for charity.

The Fairhill pub held a successful race day on Sunday, October 11, in memory of mum-of-two Isobel Malone.

The 47-year-old, who was a regular at the pub, passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer.

Staff and patrons of the pub were keen to raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of Isobel, who was married to Joe and had two sons, Scott (7) and Derek (28).

A total of £900 was raised from the event, which was well supported by local businesses.

Organiser Jinty Daly, who also works at the pub, said: “The day was a great success. We would just like to say a special thanks to everyone who donated raffle prizes and patrons who supported the event.”

From the cash raised, staff bought Isobel’s son Scott an LCD television and DVD player.

The remainder of the cash was donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
