FIRMS from across the county are being encouraged to compete in the Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards 2010.
Companies will have the opportunity to apply across a range of categories and be recognised for their business success.
For the second year the awards are hosted by North and South Lanarkshire Councils.
Scottish & Universal Newspapers, publishers of the Hamilton Advertiser, are media partners of the event.
In order to continue to create prosperity and economic success, many Lanarkshire companies are working smarter to ensure that they continue to grow and it seems that the diverse skill set across a range of industries indicates that Lanarkshire certainly has a head for business.
South Lanarkshire Council's Chair of enterprise resources, councillor Chris Thompson said: "The awards are recognised by Lanarkshire companies as the awards to win and the recognition and morale boost that they provide is immeasurable. Awards success is also a recognised accreditation for promoting businesses to customers and suppliers."
Supporting the awards again this year as main sponsor is Amey, which provides road maintenance services across the local authority areas.
There are 11 awards reflecting the diversity of the area from Best Performance in Manufacturing and Innovation to recognising the achievements of industry improvement on the environment with the Best Green Business Award.
There is also a new category, the Lanarkshire Food and Drink award, which will recognise success in a growing industry sector that puts Lanarkshire and its produce on the map worldwide.
The award categories are: Lanarkshire's Best New Business
Lanarkshire's Best Small Business (less than 25 employees)
Lanarkshire's Best Business (26 employees or more)
Best Performance in Manufacturing and Innovation
Lanarkshire Employer of the Year
Lanarkshire's Best Green Business
Best Performing Social Enterprise
Business Growth through Marketing and Sales
