Grand charity gesture

TENANTS and residents of Hamilton’s Wyler Tower have raised over £1000 for cancer patients.

A tabletop sale was held in the community room of the residential tower block at 49 Duke Street in Hamilton town centre last month.

A total of £1450 was raised, which included a £200 anonymous donation.

£800 of the cash is set to go towards the children’s ward at Yorkhill Hospital for research.

The remaining cash has also bought four 17-inch televisions with DVD players for Ward 8 at Wishaw General Hospital.

Thanks go to everyone who attended the event and made it a huge success.
