Woman’s bag is snatched

A WOMAN had her bag snatched last week while walking in the Low Waters area of Hamilton.

The theft occurred at about 1.05pm on Thursday, June 18, near School Street and Mournian Way.

The 63-year-old woman was approached from behind by a man who suddenly grabbed her handbag and made off.

It contained a three-figure sum of cash and personal items.

The thief is described as aged between 20 to 30 and tall.

He was wearing a black hooded top and dark trousers.

Police said the woman was extremely shaken by the incident, but thankfully unhurt.
