SINGING sensation Pixie Lott, hotly tipped as the next big pop star, will wow racegoers with an exclusive live performance at Hamilton Park’s Silver Bell night.
The 18-year-old will follow in the footsteps of former Aussie soap stars Danni Minogue and Jason Donovan, who have taken centre stage at the Bothwell Road race track.
Having worked with the people behind pop superstars Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Fergie, Pixie is set to storm the music charts with the release of her debut single, 'Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)' later this month.
The Silver Bell race night, in association with Cash for Kids, is one of the biggest nights in the social racing calendar and takes place on Wednesday, June 10.
Six races will take place on the night, including the race for the prestigious Lanark Silver Bell.
Covers band Private Lessons will also perform on the night.
And Clyde 1 star Suzie McGuire will be broadcasting her show from 2pm till 6pm live from the racecourse.
The event will raise funds for Cash for Kids, who help more than 100,000 needy children across Scotland.
All the money raised on the night will go to children facing financial, emotional and physical challenges in an effort to give them a happier Christmas.
Vivien Kyles, chief executive of Hamilton Park, said she is delighted that Pixie Lott will be performing at the race track.
“This year's Silver Bell race night promises to be bigger and better than ever,” she added.
“Pixie Lott is a superstar in the making and we hope her performance at the racecourse will help her on her way to the top.
“Silver Bell race night is one of the most glamorous events of the racing calendar and is in support of a charity that does so much good work for children.
“Beckford Primary and Glenlee Primary in Hamilton, and Blantyre’s St Joseph’s Primary, Auchinraith Primary, Calderside Nursery and David Livingstone Memorial Primary Centre were just some of the community groups who benefited from the generosity shown by businesses and the public.
“We want to give punters more for their money, and we hope that Pixie will give them an extra incentive to come along and support Cash for Kids' vital work."
Pixie isn’t the only music star who will perform this summer at the Lanarkshire race track.
Hamilton Park have lined up X-Factor stars JLS, Diana Vickers and Ruth Lorenzo for their popular Family Night on Saturday, July 11.
