Town’s charity store to offer range of second-hand wedding gowns
A HAMILTON charity shop is giving brides-to-be the chance to recycle, save money and give money to a good cause, all in one wedding shopping trip.
The town’s Oxfam store have a collection of wedding dresses starting from just £50 and the store has a selection of gorgeous gowns to help readers walk down the aisle in style.
Dresses are available in two-piece sets and dazzling beaded outfits, ensuring the bride looks fabulous on her special day.
Shop manager Nicole Gordon hopes that she can make the dreams of many brides-to-be come true and has already displayed some of the beautiful dresses in the window of the Cadzow Street shop.
And the Hamilton shop is aiming to take the stress out of shopping for the wedding party with a selection of suits or dresses suitable for the mother-of-the-bride or groom.
Nicole Gordon, Oxfam Hamilton store manager said: “Our shops have become the choice for more and more brides. A brand-new wedding dress can cost the earth but you can achieve that same ‘wow factor’ with one of our more affordable gowns.
“The perfect dress can be hard to find and our selection could be the answer. Any bride-to-be can come in and try on these beautiful gowns and will, hopefully, find ‘the one’.
“They come with a great price tag and each dress bought will help Oxfam in its fight against global poverty.”
Nicole says more and more brides are opting to donate their gowns in a bid to raise cash for charity as well as giving others the opportunity to wear their fabulous dresses.
Many of the gowns have been specially made, while others have come from wedding stockists.
Styles of the wedding dresses range from contemporary to vintage and cost between £50 to £150.
