Courses for carers are about to be launched in the town

A NEW training programme aimed at providing support to carers starts in Hamilton next week.

The Princess Royal Trust Lanarkshire Carers Centre in Campbell Street will host the ‘Be Positive’ course on Thursday, February 5 and 12, from 10.30am till 2.30pm each day.

The course features an introduction, Goals and Visions, and explores communication skills and listening and responding techniques.

Burnbank Family Centre in Donaldson Street are holding ‘An Introduction to First Aid for Children’ on Wednesday, February 18, from 7till 8.30pm.

The course aims to increase the ability to cope when caring for a child and includes details on resuscitation and choking. St Andrew’s Centre in St Andrew’s Drive, Hillhouse, is the venue for ‘Reflection Session, Part 2’ on Tuesday, February 24, from 6 till 8pm. This is an update from part one in the winter 2008 programme. New members are welcome, even those who missed part one. ‘Computing for the Terrified’ takes place at Hamilton Library on Thursday, February 26, from 6 till 8pm.
