A COUNCIL project aimed at guiding Lanarkshire youngsters through an online teaching aid has received a £270,000 cash boost.
The Core Connex initiative, which secured the funding from the European Social Fund, aims to provide young people with information on employment through the online videogame,Teen Second Life.
Aimed at 13 to17-year-olds, Teen Second Life creates expansive, fully-3D virtual worlds where users can interact with each other.
The project is being led by six local teenagers recruited through South Lanarkshire Council’s Universal Connections network.
Users can explore a virtual Job Centre and Council headquarters and visit areas dedicated to council initiatives.
