HAMILTON Ramblers had a choice of two walks for their outing to the Moffat area on Sunday.
Both walks started in Moffat and initially followed the same route along Golf Course Road.
A shorter, seven-mile walk took members through Greskine Forest to the ruins of Auchen Castle. From the castle, the route headed towards the railway line to pick up the Southern Upland Way and finish the walk near Beattock Village.
The longer, 10½-mile walk followed the path round Longbedholm Hill and Rivox Moor Hill to also pick up the Southern Upland Way and finish near Beattock Village.
Members have a local walk on Sunday, January 11. Everyone will be made welcome on this easy walk, which leaves from Strathclyde Water Sports Centre car park at 9.30am.
The next club outing takes place on January 18 when two walks will again be available.
A shorter, 7½-mile route will take the ramblers from Helensfield to Tillicoultry.
The longer of the two walks will cover 10 miles and will start at Bogside.
Anyone wishing to book a seat on the bus or anyone wishing further information should phone 207814 or 424676.
