A NEW boss this week vowed to improve the health of patients in Lanarkshire.
Doctor Harpreet Kohli was speaking as he was appointed the new director of public health at NHS Lanarkshire.
He takes over from Dr Dorothy Moir who recently retired from NHS Lanarkshire Health Board.
Mr Kohli has been a consultant in public health medicine for 11 years with the health board and is looking forward to his new challenge.
He said: “I believe that public health can make a difference in improving the health of the people of Lanarkshire, and my broad experience of public health and working as medical advisor in NHS Quality Improvement Scotland will be important in achieving this.”
Tim Davison, NHS Lanarkshire’s chief executive, added: “Harpreet has the experience, skills and critical leadership behaviours needed to take the public health agenda forward in NHS Lanarkshire.”
