Weapon offence

A MOTHERWELL teenager has been tagged after carrying a knife at a popular fireworks display.

John Duff (16), of Lindum Street, was found in possession of the weapon in Strathclyde Park on November 5 this year while he was on bail on another matter. At the time of Duff’s offence, thousands of people were celebrating Guy Fawkes night in the park.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court last week, Sheriff Shiona Waldron imposed the restriction of liberty order on Duff.

Its terms require that he remain in his house between 7pm and 7am every day for the next four months.
