Pub is top for real ale by George

THE George Bar in Hamilton has been chosen by The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) as pub of the year.

The award is in recognition of the support which the George has given to high quality real ale during 2008 and for many years.

Since the present owners Lynn and Colin Adams took over the George about 20 years ago, they have won this prestigious award more often than any other pub.

Despite increasing competition in recent years which has seen the Real Ale Pub of the Year title occasionally go elsewhere, the George has once again come out on top.
