COMMUNITY Links have held their AGM and Volunteer Awards ceremony.
The event, which recognised the work of people from across Lanarkshire, was held in Blantyre Miners’ Community Resource Centre.
A spokesperson from Community Links said: “The purpose of the day was not only to celebrate the volunteers and their achievements, but also that of Community Links over the past year.
“A special thanks must go to the fifth and sixth year students and teachers of Calderside Academy and Hamilton Grammar schools who attended as part of their business course.”
The event was supported by First Direct and Hamilton printer Buchanan McPherson Ltd.
Seven awards were distributed at the Volunteer Awards ceremony.
The ICT accolade went to Armani Meango Kasongo, while Bryan Armour won best newcomer and the young volunteer award.
George Orr picked up the community involvement award, with Andrew Black (best adult) and Craig Ritchie (progression award) also picking up prizes. Catherine McNiven was given the life long service award
Morag Pinion, project manager at Community Links, added: “Our volunteers play a very important and integral part to the operation of Community Links.
“We felt that the awards ceremony was a fitting way to honour our dedicated volunteers and were delighted with the success of the event and thank everyone for their success.
“Once again we would like to congratulate our volunteers on their achievements and say a big thank you for their commitment and dedication.”
