A WOMAN this week offered a £50 reward for the return of a gold medallion, depicting the Madonna and baby Jesus, lost while shopping in Hamilton on November 5.
Theresa McKay (69) parked at the Top Cross and visited Poundstretchers and the Regent Way Shopping Centre.
Mrs McKay said: “The necklace is not worth much money but is of great sentimental value to me.
“My late husband John bought it for me 49 years ago, a few years before we got married in July, 1963.
“John died in 1987 aged 52, and the necklace is all I have left of him and our time together.
“I’m devastated to have lost the chain and medallion and hope that someone finds it and hands it back.”
The necklace chain was a small link belcher-style, with a medallion of the Madonna and child in 9ct gold.
Anyone who finds the chain and medallion is asked to hand them in to Hamilton or East Kilbride Police offices, or post it to Mrs McKay, 2 Bank Park, The Murray, East Kilbride, G75 0DE, telephone 01355 227 748.
