TWO Hamilton shoppers have escaped injury after a pane of glass shattered over them.
Police were called to Boots in the town’s Palace Grounds last Friday morning around 11.10am after the glass broke above the chemists.
The cause for the shattered glass remains a mystery.
Police have confirmed a 65-year-old man and a 39-year-old man were both “slightly injured” by flying glass, but both refused hospital treatment and were treated by first aiders at Boots.
Chief inspector Tom Aitken of Hamilton Police said: “The glass pane just seemed to fall off. Thankfully nobody was seriously injured.”
Police set up a cordon around the smashed glass before it was later cleared up.
The missing glass pane was still evident yesterday (Wednesday).
The Boots store in Hamilton’s Palace Grounds is neighboured by JD Sports and Vue Cinema.
A spokesperson for Boots added: “The first aiders who are located within the Hamilton store were only too happy to help.”
