New service launched to help Fairhill people back to work

PEOPLE out of work in Fairhill are being given help to find a job.

In a new initiative, Routes to Work South (RTWS) are offering their range of job access services from the newly-opened Fairhill Community Centre in Neilsland Road.

The group’s key worker Andy Bicker is based in the centre every Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon.

He can offer advice and support for anyone looking to move into employment, training or further education.

Andy will also display local job opportunities within the centre and these vacancies will be updated on a weekly basis. Everyone is welcome to go along and view the job vacancy boards and training opportunities on display.

As part of their job, access services RTWS deliver a range of employer-led training courses that train people for specific skilled jobs.

Recent courses have trained people for jobs in construction, specialist floor laying, glass fitting and social care.

In addition, RTWS are a Training For Work (TFW) provider. TFW assists job-ready people to acquire the skills, qualifications and experience that will lead to a job.

If you're not working and looking for a job, call freephone 0800 431 0444 to make an appointment, or drop-in on a Tuesday morning or Thursday afternoon to have a chat with Andy about how he can help you.
