Family support group roll-out the red carpet for open event

LOCAL people are being reminded that the ICAN group in the local area are hosting an open day event.

The event will be used to provide information for families of children and young people with additional support needs.

The open day is being held at the Banqueting Hall, Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton, on Friday, October 3 from 10am until 3pm.

There will be various information stands and staff on hand to answer queries from South Lanarkshire Council’s Education, Social Work and Housing Services, as well as South Lanarkshire Leisure, NHS Lanarkshire and key voluntary organisations.

There will also be complimentary therapy sessions, aromatherapy, beauty therapy and massage as well as health checks.

The event is free and open to families, friends and relatives as well as professionals who have an interest or involvement in disability.

Transport and creche facilities are available but must be booked in advance.
