PENSIONERS will be given a chance to bend a councillor’s ear with two new surgeries now situated in Hamilton.
Hamilton North East SNP councillor Barry Douglas will hold his first new surgery at Lorne Street Sheltered Housing Complex, 32 Lorne Street, on Tuesday, October 7, from 5.30pm to 6.15pm.
The surgery will be held every first Tuesday of the month.
Councillor Douglas’s other new surgery will be held in Barncluith Sheltered Housing Complex, Baron Court, on Tuesday October 21, from 5.30pm to 6.15pm.
This surgery will take place in the sheltered housing complex on the third Tuesday of each month.
Councillor Douglas said: “I am introducing these new surgeries primarily to meet the needs of the elderly population in the area but also for the wider community to ensure I am holding surgeries in locations throughout the whole of the ward.
“I hope residents in the Chantinghall, Peacock Cross and Burnbank Road areas find the Lorne Street venue accessible for them and residents in Barncluith will also find it convenient for them to be able to get the chance to meet with me right on their doorstep.”
