AN intruder broke into Logans Primary School, Motherwell, at about 3.20am on September 12.

The alarm was triggered after a window was smashed.

No property was found to be missing.

Anyone with information on this incident should contact PC Wandrum at Wishaw Police Office.

A FIRE occurred at an empty flat in Watson Street, Motherwell, at about 4am on September 15. Police say it is believed the fire was started maliciously.

Anyone who has info on this incident is asked to contact PC Anderson at Wishaw.

A 19-YEAR-OLD was caught carrying a knife in Logans Road, Motherwell, on September 13. He was arrested and detained to attend at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Constable Derek McWhinnie said: “In this day and age the carrying of knives and other offensive weapons is unacceptable. Any person carrying a knife runs the risk of being arrested as well as other more serious consequences.”

AN intruder broke into Motherwell Health Centre, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell, between 7.15pm and 8.10pm on September 11.

Entry was gained via a ground floor window. No property was stolen.

TWO woman had their purses stolen while shopping in Brandon Parade South, Motherwell.

The first incident took place on September 10 at about 1.15pm when a 50-year-old woman had noticed her handbag lying open and her purse was missing.

At 1.30pm a 45-year-old woman was in Bon Marche when she noticed her shoulder bag had been unzipped and her purse was missing.

PC Derek McWhinnie said: "I would urge any persons carrying bags to ensure they keep their property close to themselves, keep bags closed and not to carry excessive sums of money."
