HOPING to hit the right note with audiences - just like Last Choir Standing - a Glasgow male voice choir is on the hunt for top vocal talent.
While the Glasgow Philharmonic Male Voice Choir's audiences are slightly more modest than the five million viewers who tune in to the BBC hit show every Saturday night, they hope the programme has sparked enthusiasm for all things choral.
The city-based group are keen to attract new members from Lanarkshire for the 60-strong choir which boasts members aged from 19 to 90.
Men of all ages are very welcome to join this world-renowned choir which rehearses on Tuesdays from 7pm at Adelaide's Baptist Church in Bath Street, Glasgow.
There will be an open night to welcome new singers at the church on Tuesday, September 16, at 7pm.
In a bid to encourage younger singers to join them, the choir are offering six scholarships which are open to fifth- and sixth-year school pupils.
Each scholarship is for £150 a year and will be given to the most suitable applicants following auditions.
They will also receive lessons in voice production and get valuable experience of sight reading.
Details of the scholarship scheme are available from principal music teachers in all Glasgow secondary schools or on the choir's website - www.glasphilmvc.org.uk.
