Open day at Hamilton fire station

HAMILTON Fire Station are to hold an open day on Sunday,September 14.

The event, which has been organised in conjunction with European Heritage Days and South Lanarkshire Council, will run from 10am until 4pm at the fire station on Bothwell Road, and is suitable for all the family.

Providing demonstrations and displays on the day will be community safety officers, firefighters, Trossachs search and rescue dog team, Strathclyde Police and other community partners.

There will also be new community safety educational vehicles, a chip pan demonstration unit and a guided tour of the fire station.

A charity car wash will take place throughout the day, with proceeds going to The Fire Fighters Charity, which helps serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.
