MOTHERWELL College are offering a computing course to unemployed people who live in Blantyre.
Starting in September, the Introduction to IT class will be available to residents in the town.
Students will be able to gain confidence and experience by working on small projects, as well as improving their numeracy and communication skills.
The course will be delivered by Motherwell College staff in the new Blantyre Miners’ Resource Centre.
The first course will run from early September for 14 weeks, with lessons taking place three days a week.
Places are available now and if you are unemployed, you should be eligible to attend the course at no cost or loss of benefits.
In addition, Jobcentre Plus staff will be on hand to advise students on how to use their newly learned computing skills to seek out jobs and apply for them.
Motherwell College Principal Hugh Logan said: “Having basic computing skills can be vital in helping getting employment.
“This project not only helps participants learn those skills, it is delivered right on the doorsteps of those who need it most to help them get on the jobs ladder.”
