Twenty years ago, Chassels was found guilty at Airdrie High Court of attempted murder and was sentenced to eight years in a young offenders institution.

Wendy McGill (21), of Milton Terrace, pulled out a knife in front of John Murray in Focus in Blantyre’s Whistleberry Road last Saturday, August 23.

McGill also admitted stealing a number of lights and latches from the store.

The 21-year-old was on bail at the time of the offences.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, Sheriff Danny Scullion jailed her for eight months.

The Sheriff stated two months of the sentence were as a consequence of the bail aggravation.
