PUPILS at St Blane’s Primary will today attend their brand-new school for the very first time.

The £6.2m building has been delivered by South Lanarkshire Council as part of the Schools Modernisation Programme.

In July, St Blane’s received on of the best HM Inspectors' reports in the country.

Out of the 16 indicators of performance, St Blane’s were marked excellent – the best grade – in two and very good in 13.

The inspectors were impressed by the overall standard of teaching and were delighted with the pupils’ high attainment in Maths and English.

The leadership of head teacher Anne Marie Reid was also highly commended.

At the time, she said: “We are all very proud of our school and its achievements and we will ensure this continues when we move into our new school.”
