Police probe serious assault on Hamilton man

A HAMILTON man suffered serious facial injuries when he was attacked in Larkhall on Friday.

He was found by police in London Street about 11.30pm.

The 27-year-old, who was conscious, was taken to Wishaw General Hospital and detained for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police discovered the man after they were tipped off by an anonymous telephone caller.

Detective sergeant Craig Willison, of Hamilton CID, said: “The man was seriously injured by unknown assailants in London Street.

“It is believed that there may have been a number of other people in the area at the time of the assault.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that may aid enquiries should contact me on 01698 483300 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
