New bus service takes to the road

A NEW bus service between Shotts and Hamilton will be launched next week.

The 266, from operator FirstBus, will start on Monday, August 18.

The service will provide direct links every 30 minutes from Monday to Friday.

Buses will operate between Shotts, Stane, Allanton, Bonkle, Newmains, Wishaw, Netherton, Motherwell and Hamilton.

To mark the new service, the bus company are holding a competition for passengers who will use the service.

If passengers travel on the 266 between August 18 and Sunday, September 21, they could enter a free prize draw and win up to £100 each week in Tesco shopping vouchers.

All people have to do is drop an entry into the on-board prize draw box every time they travel.
