Taste of Italy at town centre barrel race

ITALIAN restaurant Tutti Tuscan Grille at Palace Towers, Hamilton, is organising a barrel race across the town square on August 16 at 11.30am to raise funds for the St Andrew’s Hospice.

Organising the project is Rob Reeley, managing director of Tutti.

He said: “Much of our menu is inspired by classic Tuscan recipes. In Montepulciano it is tradition to run fresh barrels of wine across the town square to celebrate the new vintage. We thought why not bring a touch of Italy to Hamilton?”

Each team will consist of four members who will run a length of the square whilst rolling the barrel; they’ll pass the barrel to their next team member until all four have completed the race.

The winner will receive the Tutti challenge trophy and free pizza for a year.

If you would like to take part in the race, email barrelrace@bigwavepr.co.uk or call 01206 397369.
