Cup winners’ fun day helps youth project

Cup winners’ fun day helps youth project

EDDLEWOOD Amateur Football Club committee put on a fantastic fun day last weekend to raise money for the club and a local youth project.

The idea came after Eddlewood won the Scottish Amateur Cup in May.

Eddlewood Youth Project will be handed some much-needed funding and the remainder will go to club funds.

Universal Connections helped the club to apply for grant funding and helped organise the Eddlewood’s Got Talent event during the day.

The winner of the contest was 11-year-old singer Justine Wilson from Woodside Primary, who won four tickets to Louden Castle.

In second place was Jenna Radigan (6) for dancing, and Craig Kerr (9), the youngest black belt in South Lanarkshire, was third for a karate performance and both received a backpack full of goodies, toys and family passes for the Water Palace in Hamilton and Aquatec Centre in Motherwell.

A football shirt worn by Derek Innes (28), club captain in the final, was raffled and won by Mrs C Hunter.

The Eddlewood Dash winner received two tickets for a dinner dance at Colvilles Park Club.

The children’s section winner received a football and a McDonalds voucher.
