NHS Lanarkshire last month held an open day for heart patients to raise awareness of heart health and local support services.
The event, held on June 13 and hosted by NHS Lanarkshire’s Managed Clinical Network (MCN) at the GLO Centre in Motherwell, included a variety of fun and healthy activities.
Presentations were given by cardiologists Dr Lewis Vickers and Dr Andrew Docherty, and Louise Peardon from Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS).
Chef Tony Mott, from Motherwell College, gave a healthy eating demonstration which included cooking a healthy three-course meal for four people.
Maureen Carroll, coronary heart disease (CHD) and respiratory MCN manager, said: “The day was a great success, with patients picking up some valuable tips for healthy living and finding out more about the services and support available to them.”
