Hamilton artist’s work to go on show

HAMILTON artist Alan Potter will exhibit his works at East Kilbride Arts Centre Gallery, Old Coach Road, next month.

Alam, who was born in Burnbank, began his working life as an engineer with Rolls-Royce.

After serving his apprenticeship, he went on to become an aero engineer inspector until his urge to study art became too strong to resist, whereupon he enrolled at the Glasgow School of Art.

Now working as a professional artist, he enjoys working in a broad variety of media, selecting the most appropriate techniques and materials for the project in hand.

This results in work being carried out in materials such as bronze, steel, stone, wood etc.

His exhibition begins on August 2 until August 30 and runs from 10am-8pm daily.

Admission to the show is free of charge.
