Dance success

AWARDS have been presented to students at the Karen Allison School of Dance in Eddlewood.

Hamilton’s Alana Healey is this year’s winner of the Amanda Jane Duffy Memorial Shield, which was handed over by last year’s winner, Debbie Allison.

Alana won the award for her attendance, personality, quality of dance, dedication and examination results throughout the year.

She particularly excelled in tap, modern and also in freestyle.

Katelyn Murray, also from Hamilton, won the Karen Allison Special Award Trophy.

Katelyn won this accolade for her performance throughout this year’s dance display and for her efforts in the tap, modern, freestyle and cheerpom classes.

Karen Allison congratulated the girls on their success and thanked all the pupils for taking part in the recent display at Motherwell Civic Theatre.

Classes resume at the end of August in Eddlewood Public Hall, Hamilton.

Classes are in tap, modern, freestyle (hip-hop/disco), cheerpom, Highland and Scottish national.
