COUSINS Hugh and George Reid , both from Hamilton, are appealing for anyone who could supply an old photo of their grand-father.
Hugh (60), from Scott Street, and George (69) from Quarry Street, are hunting down the photo of their grand-father Donald Reid, who played football with Burnbank Athletic Football Club in 1901-1903.
Donald Reid, a stonemason, died in 1945.
The pair have been tracing their ancestry and found a photo and clipping of the Burnbank Athletic 1901 League Winners.
They also won the Scottish Junior Cup in 1901.
Hugh said: “We are trying to gather as much information to send over to our family in Toronto in Canada, who are also the grand-children of Donald, but have never been here.”
George added: “Hugh’s dad, also Hugh, and my father William were brothers, and we have been to Hamilton Town House library to look up information.
“We thought we were onto something with the 1901 picture of our grand-father Donald, but have come up against a brick wall now.
“If anyone has any old pictures of the Burnbank Athletic side, or of the Scottish Junior Cup winners, we would be grateful for a copy of any pictures.”
