Hamilton Teenagers face theft charges

TWO Hamilton teenagers appeared in court last week charged with thieving a range of goods from an outlet in a town retail park.

Scott Kilpatrick (18), of 61 Whistleberry Drive, and John Tose (16), of 26 Bryan Street, had allegedly broken into the In Store premises at Douglas Park Retail Park on July 10 and stole items which included digital television tuners, DVD recorders, an electric drill, a vacuum cleaner, stool, batteries and food.

Kilpatrick denied the charge and Sheriff Frank Pieri set the trial date for August 8, granting him bail meantime.

Tose, however, admitted an amended charge, which only mentioned the DVD recorders and food, which was accepted by the Crown.

Sheriff Pieri deferred sentence on Tose until August 15 for reports and granted him bail meantime.
