Two Hamilton youths go on trial over race charges

TWO Hamilton teenagers this week denied racially abusing two men in a Lanarkshire theme park.

Scott McInall (18), and Mark Findlay (17), appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday charged with acting in a racially aggravated manner at M&D’s Leisure in Strathclyde Park on October 10 last year causing alarm and distress.

They were alleged to have shouted racial remarks at Marik Rumik and Jasek Stolarski, swore and made offensive gestures.

Sheriff Shiona Waldron adjourned the case for trial until August 5 and ordained McInall, of 21 Comrie Crescent, and Mark Findlay, of 23 Ormiston Drive, to appear on that date.
