Lanarkshire party for golden wedding couples

IF you are celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary this year and haven't applied to join Lanarkshire's Golden Wedding party, then there is still time to do so.

The event, open to couples living in North and South Lanarkshire, will be held from September 10-12. Guests will celebrate their special day with South Lanarkshire Provost Russell Clearie and North Lanarkshire Provost Tom Curley.

This year’s party is being hosted by South Lanarkshire with couples being treated to a nostalgic trip back to the year they tied the knot with images of their period flashed up on a giant screen while they dance to live music of the era.

The venue is the Banqueting Hall at South Lanarkshire Council headquarters, Almada Street, Hamilton.

To attend, send your name, address, telephone number and a photocopy of your marriage certificate to South Lanarkshire Council, Administration Services (Floor 2), Almada Street, Hamilton.
