Keep an eye on schools over summer

STRATHCLYDE Police are encouraging local people to keep an eye on school premises while they are closed over the summer holiday.

Friday marks the end of term and police say it is important that schools in the area, which have recently received substantial investment, are policed by the community.

People whose property overlooks or is adjacent to a school building are being asked to report any suspicious activity immediately.

Area Inspector Kenny Graham said: “It is important that local people look out for any unusual activity at our schools over the summer period.

“Our officers will continue to patrol the areas as normal, but any assistance from the community would be greatly appreciated.”
