Strathclyde Park set to host NHS ‘fun day’

A FAMILY fun day will take place in Strathclyde Park this Sunday, June 22.

Run by NHS Lanarkshire, the event offers families the opportunity to try out a series of health activities such as fitness classes, rowing simulators, highland games and climbing.

It takes place between 11am and 4pm and will be opened by radio presenter and columnist Tam Cowan.

There will also be dance demonstrations, a simulator for golf practice and a play area which includes bouncy castle and an obstacle course.

People will also be able to get healthy living advice, health checks, information on stress and mental health and tips on stopping smoking.

NHS Lanarkshire employee director Hugh Sweeney, who is overseeing the event, said: “We would love all families in Lanarkshire to take the time to come and enjoy these NHS birthday celebrations.

“This is a one-off event and we believe it is the biggest NHS birthday celebration in Scotland. It really is a day not to be missed.”

The event is free as is parking.
